Happy 2019!

(fr)

With the idea of renewing a project similar to Christmas 2018, I asked my family the following this year:

Hello!

For this Christmas, if you want to offer me something, I would love to receive gifts as donations. Find aphilantropic organisation or an initiative that matches your values the best, then write me a quick note about why, once you donated them what you think is useful and you can afford.

On my side, your gift from me will be a donation to the same initiative as you (or another if you prefer), plus one on my own.

If you’re looking for inspiration:

Hugs! See you soon!

PS : This idea comes from encounters during my trips, sometimes short, sometimes lasting, sometimes far away, sometimes really really close.

A friend had a similar project for his birthday a few years ago. Another friend offered me the book I mentioned before. The venezuelian migrants and their stories on my entering Ecuador showed me a reality similar to the one that populations reaching out for Europe and France are going through, the kindness of my hosts in Quito, our discussions in Santander with C., the list is growing…

This project has a couple of goals for me:

  • Develop one’s altruism as much as possible.
  • Educate myself with what positive movements exit throughout the world.
  • Learn about prople around me because, being far appart for many years, it’s not always easy to discuss topics that matter and the opinions we build about the world that surrounds us… Helping a cause often tells a lot about the person who helps.
  • Helping people around me to realize we possess more than the average; our money could then be invested in something else then a gift that will collect dust or help an already stuffed stomach.

So if you want to participate, I would be glad if our money could go to organisations that are useful to our society, our environment, etc. All being intertwined in my opinion.

Happy New Year 2019!

Donations have already been made to the following actions; I will update the list with new ones:
